Throughout the design and engineering of SITEIT, we have integrated specific accessibility measures:
- Semantic Structure: Clear HTML landmarks (<header>, <main>, <nav>, <section>, <footer>) and organized heading hierarchies (H1 through H4) to support screen reader navigation.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements—including primary navigation, the Before/After comparison slider, What If controls, modal dialogs, and language selectors—are fully operable via standard keyboard controls (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape).
- Visible Focus Indicators: Interactive buttons, inputs, and links display prominent focus rings (:focus-visible) to assist keyboard and switch-device navigators.
- Reduced Motion Support: The site respects user preferences for reduced motion via the @media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce) CSS query, automatically disabling or minimizing ambient animations, carousel sweeps, and transitions.
- Color & Contrast: Text and UI controls are calibrated against Mediterranean green (#2C3E35), muted sand (#D3C5AC), and dark slate (#313326) backgrounds to ensure readable contrast ratios.
- Form Accessibility: All input fields feature explicit programmatic labels, descriptive placeholders, clear required indicators, and accessible validation feedback.
- Image & SVG Handling: Decorative vector illustrations (such as Mediterranean olive foliage) are marked with aria-hidden='true' to avoid screen reader clutter, while informative images include descriptive alternative text.
4. Ongoing Assessment & Honest Baseline
We believe in honesty rather than superficial claims. We do not claim '100% compliance' or artificial automated certifications.
Digital accessibility is an ongoing discipline. As we add new interactive demonstrations, we continuously evaluate our markup against current standards.
